Mya Richards

I live and write in southern Montgomery County, Tenn. I am editing my first novel and have written drafts for two others, making the story a series. I also write an award-winning weekly column,“It’s Whatever,” under my given name which printed for more than seven years in the local paper and is currently being relocated to its new home. I also worked as the morning editor for local news, as an investigative reporter — and spent time on the cops, city government, county government and education beats.

I teach communication and writing classes in workshops and at the university level. I earned my Master of Arts degree in mass communication and Bachelor of Science degree in journalism with a minor in English — both from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.

When I’m not in my studio writing or quilting, I am chasing my toddler, driving my teen-aged children around town or drinking coffee with my friends.

Best in reading, writing — and everything,
